Hardwood flooring means both solid and engineered varieties. Wood is the product all other floors pretend to be (literally), and there's a reason for that. It's the best. Knockoffs are fine, but they're still knockoffs (looking at you with the Mikel Coors bag). 

It's plastic and it's fantastic. Many options here are made in the USA, which is a huge deal by the way. Most of the environmental damaged caused by vinyl flooring is putting it on a bunker-fueled container ship and pushing it 7,000 nautical miles across the largest ocean on earth. This is better.
